Shahrzad Pantera
Board President

After 6 years as a Senior Vice President at a local community bank, where she was a graduate of the 2007-2008 Leadership Program for San Mateo County, and served as a Board of Director for the Half Moon Bay Chamber of Commerce, and served on the San Mateo downtown business association, Shahrzad decided to take a break from her career to spend more time with her two son, David and Andrew, and give back to her community. Since then she has founded several organizations and earned several awards.

Shahrzad was a founding member of the Half Moon Bay Police Activities League and served as the board’s president for several years. She was also a founding member of the Sheriffs’ Activites League board for San Mateo County. She helped found the Coastside Youth Summit, and ran the summit for the 6 years, actively leading this important, successful youth project, helping middle school youth transition to High School life.

Shahrzad served as the Chairman of the Board of the Half Moon Bay Parks and Recreation Committee for over 6 years where she was integral part of founding and implementing of the city’s Adopt-a-Park program and Concert-in-the-Park programs.

During that time Shahrzad also helped to co-found the Friends of Half Moon Bay Parks and Recreation, a non-profit organization that she now leads as president and CEO. She graduated from the FBI’s Citizens’ Academy in 2012. That same year she was recognized by the US Congress and the California Assembly with the Mayor’s Diversity Award. Shahrzad has been named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club of Half Moon Bay. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from SFSU in Management and Corporate Finance.

In 2017 Shahrzad was given the distinct honor of being named Citizen of the Year for the City of Half Moon Bay.
